An original mix of watercolours and acrylics on a deep canvas.
I have firstly created texture on this canvas with a thick primer and then applied a wash of watercolours outlining the key colours and tones, in this art. I imagined the quite boggy surfaces and colours of the plant life found perhaps in the Scottish Highlands or other rugged areas of Britain.
I have tried to reflect quite a rocky existence for the hardy plants in the work and hopefully this comes across with texture and colour. I have applied white acrylic to the central areas, perhaps representing a flow of busy water down rocks or maybe just light through reeds. I like to leave that to the onlooker.
This heavy, deep edged canvas has been painted white at the edges for extra impact and it is ready to hang as it is, by simply resting flush against the wall on a heavy duty nail or fitting.
