Original artwork description:
Textured gouache on paper of the Rothiemurchus forest in the Cairngorms of Scotland. I love the riveted texture of the bark of the ancient Scots Pines (known as granny pines), capturing the light in hues of pink and purple. I painted this picture and realised something was missing- the red squirrel in one of its remaining strong holds, so have added one high in the branches.
