No 3 in the 'Birds of the Rhone Alps' series a Rock Ptarmigan or Lagopède Alpin in French. Referred to as the chicken of the snow, by me, the Ptarmigan is a member of the grouse family and lives in the high mountain areas of Eurasia and North America.
