Original artwork description:

Inspired by images of the earth from satellite, I had in mind the area east of the Indian continent and south of Bangladesh, and west of Myanmar. Something about the heated land and the cool reaches of the Himalayas, but I was also inspired by the teal and turquoise colors of the ocean as seen on Google-Earth. I've got cloud cover coast along the bottom edge of my painting. This is encaustic one cradled panel, 24x24x1.5 inches; in addition to the highly-pigmented and strengthened beeswax, I've used powdered pigment and oil stick. The cradle dis painted a deep blue. This is not framed (could be, but certainly isn't needed), signed, dated on the back, and ships with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity.

Materials used:

encaustic paint, powdered pigment, oil stick on cradled panel
