Original artwork description:

No matter how formidable the form of dictatorship may be, a free future will come anyway.

The egg in this picture is a symbol of free ideas and moods of the Belarusian people, and a military boot is a formidable machine of the dictatorship of the ruling power. You can crush an egg by force, suppress protests with police truncheons, but the nascent hope for a new happy future will still live on.

The picture was painted at the time of the protests in Belarus, and the author was so outraged by the ongoing lawlessness and arbitrariness of the authorities that in this emotional impulse the first canvas that came to hand was taken and the expressive manner of painting, unusual for the author, was used.

The artist expresses his sincere support to the people of Belarus, to all political prisoners and free sane people who find it so difficult to live in countries with dictatorship and authoritarianism.
