Original artwork description:

Redfish Reckoning continues my exploration, both in person and through painting, of Redfish Lake, Idaho. The Redfish experience is much more than what is seen. It's what is felt; it's the overwhelming power of nature combined with beauty. It's the realization of how small and insignificant one feels when surrounded by deep woodlands stretching up rocky peaks. It's viewing pine covered hills from across the lake, where distance makes emerald knolls look serene, while knowing deep down their's is a strong, imposing, and often brutal route when explored on foot or horseback.
My goal is to convey these voices of nature to my viewers, palette knife being my favorite tool for sharing nature's message. But Redfish Lake also offers mystery and romance of a seemingly placid body of water, calling for calmer, restful strokes of fine brushwork. May nature bring beauty, adventure, tranquility, and awe to all who enter.

Materials used:

Graham oil paints, palette knife, canvas, brushwork
