Original artwork description:
While traveling throughout Arizona, I was painting with a master of oils and acrylics as applied to southwest themes. Through his eyes I discovered one of my favorite southwest landscapes, the Red Rock Mountains. I sketched this subject while spending time in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. I followed up with a sunrise photograph and again throughout the day observing the light. This piece was finished in my studio back in California.
