I live next to one of the few remaining Lowland Heaths in the country and during the summer months a herd of red/brown cows comes to visit. They help maintain the peculiar ecology of the heath and give local colour to the landscape.
Like all cows they are unpredictable and this one raced by in front of me locking on my retina.
I used watercolour and gouache mixed from primary colours that reflect the shock of the moment.
