Original artwork description:

The bicycle is a very ecological and healthy conveyance for those who use it.

Its origin dates back thousands of years. There are records that rudimentary artifacts composed of two wheels joined by a bar were manufactured in Ancient Egypt. A very similar gadget was also known in China, but with wheels made of bamboo.

There is a belief that the first news about a bicycle dates back to the year 1490, approximately, in the work Codex Atlanticus, by Leonardo da Vinci. In them you can see a sketch of a bicycle with chain drive driven by some pedals.

The Mexican artist Gabo Mendoza pays tribute to the wonderful invention of two wheels.

As usual, Gabo implements vibrant colors and woven paper to give a different texture to his artwork.

Materials used:

Acrylic and woven paper on canvas
