Artist's description:

I drove recently to Brighton and glanced across at the iconic Palace Pier. The sky was leaden, and due to a charity event there was no way to park. I settled for the fleeting glimpse of the Pier. Once I had had lunch I settled to drawing my recollection of what I have seen. I find that this enables me to get the essence of the scene, without getting too hung up about the detail. However, the next dry day I hope to capture a series of sketches to produce more pictures like this!
