The portrait of the sitter from the back was made while studying at the Academy of Arts. A mature man with strongly developed muscles on his back demonstrates his vigorous activity in life. Hands are relaxed, but we see muscle tone. Yet the figure is quite elegant, which is similar to the figures of the Greek gods. The duration of the work was 2 months. Step by step and centimeter by centimeter, skills and craftsmanship were honed. Each muscle was studied separately in anatomical classes on the example of skeletons and casts in order to show the volume and tension of the muscle with two strokes. Hatching in some places turns into an engraving technique, which gives richness and variety in the drawing. In the execution of the drawing, natural dye for paper (black tea), charcoal, pressed charcoal were used.
