I was born within a mile of this beach and it holds many memories for me. There is a steep shelf just beyond the shoreline and as the tide comes in, a huge swell develops, causing powerful waves to crash onto the granite rocks. In the distance, like a sleeping guardian, is the Treryn Dinas headland with Logan Rock.
Painted with brush and palette knife, the painting captures the movement of the churning sea and you can see a certain luminance in the foam of the breaking waves.
The painting is unframed, on canvas board, with two coats of varnish applied for UV protection.
