Artist's description:

Original pencil drawing of a Rubenesque female nude - drawn from photographs and further adapted to exaggerate the pleasing curves of the female form in an drawing that celebrates shape. My aim was to exercise my drawing skills through observation of negative space and the placement of marks, and although I started with accuracy in mind, I became lost in the enjoyment that comes with the movement of the pencil around the flowing form of the model and her hair.

The title, written on the work, comes from a note I made whilst drawing; a reminder to add some things to my shopping list.

Drawn in February 2018, using 3B pencil on 200gsm watercolour paper.

Materials used:

200 gsm Watercolour paper

‘popcorn and breadsticks’ - seated, nude, female figure drawing - pencil (2015)
