Original artwork description:

Painted during isolation in April 2020, this image recalls summer holidays and happier times, showing a pool populated by two blown-up pool floats in the shape of a donut and a flamingo.

I was inspired to paint this based on my own past holiday memories but also by the work of one of my favourite artists, David Hockney, who famously captured Californian swimming pools in vivid bright colours and shapes. I also feel influenced by a lesser known Japanese artist called Hiroshi Nagai, who found cult fame depicting a highly stylised take on the pristine beaches, sparkling pools, and endless blue skies of Tokyo's economic boom in the 80's.

The end result is a bold, bright, and original artworks that would brighten any room in the house.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pens on thick high quality A4 paper. It is signed and dated on the back, as pictured.

PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in an A4 frame for display purposes.
