Original artwork description:

"Plain View", my first series for 2023, are works comprised of many layers to achieve the complex story line and depth of field that I was going for. For some, I used round shapes which encourage movement on the canvas, and others I added a depth of field aided by a perspective. I think what is interesting of a perspective in this context is it aids the eye to look at what is beyond the surface. My goal was and is to make the artwork "speak" to the viewer in a dimensional way. The color palette is primarily blues and tones in the blue family such as lavenders and purples, and neutrals. This was a chance to use purples which historically I've had great difficulty with. I think I have achieved something different for me and for the art I show to the world.
