With my love of pop art, kitsch, Americana, and birds, it was only a matter of time before flamingos became a subject matter for me. But instead of going for a realistic depiction of nature I couldn't help but paint the popular plastic pink flamingo that has become a feature of lawns and gardens across the world since the 1950s. Being a fan of John Waters must have casually influenced this decision this.

The plastic flamingo itself is depicted in a side view against a classic white picket fence, blue sky, and green lawn. The end result is a bold bright colourful piece that would brighten up any home.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca pen on thick high quality A3 paper. It is signed on the back.

PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a white A3 frame for display purposes. The final picture shows the other current bird pictures available in my shop, and mocks up what they could all look like together.
