Original artwork description:

A pheasant gracefully wades through shallow waters, its elegant form surrounded by reflections of the sky above. The scene is imbued with a sense of serenity and tranquility, as ripples gently distort the mirrored images, creating a mesmerising interplay of light and shadow.

I've sought to capture the vibrant hues of its plumage to the delicate curvature of its neck and tail feathers. Each brushstroke conveys a sense of movement and life, as the pheasant navigates the water with poise and grace.

I live up in the High Peaks surrounded by moorland and I love catching glimpses of them. They have such complex patterns in their feathers that were both a challenge and pleasure to paint. I have had this image in my source material folder for well over a year but felt uncertain on how to paint it, when I finally sat down it came very naturally.

I get all frames custom made from frames express and generally order them when the painting sells. It usually takes them a few days to be made and posted, then I frame them myself before posting them out. This allows me to offer the works unframed or framed.
