Original artwork description:

Inspired by the inspirational artist Mark Rothco, I wanted to take his concept of a large expanse of flat colour and mix it. Incorporating the figures that I paint, to see if the two coincide.

I have been painting these seascapes for over a year now, simple landscapes which feature small figures relaxing, capturing that feeling of quiet solitude despite being surrounded by people.

This series of works is on reinforced primed wooden panels. The smooth surface gives the appearance of water unaffected by texture.

Each painting is set within a hand painted, white wooden frame. All ready to hang.

Oil paint and glazes, wooden panel primed in gesso
