Lovely orchids in a monochrome colour black which gives this image a pensive perspective. I have orchids in my studio as they are easy to keep and are fascinating to look closely at.

A monotype monoprint is when the ink has been rolled and wiped onto a smooth surface and then run through a printing press. All the ink is removed from the plate making it very difficult to repeat the image so they are one of a kind prints.
They are difficult prints to make as it can take most of the day to wipe and re apply the ink until one is satisfied.

oil based printmaking inks on White Somerset paper
