Oil on canvas 70x70cm /27.5inch Square. Stretched, Unframed canvas. Ready to Hang. Can be hung without a frame. Signed on the reverse.
This work is a part of the artist’s Abandon series and was created during the spring and summer of 2020 while in lockdown in Belgrade. During this time, Genevieve observed that the wildflowers and grasses were left untamed in the city, as human activity slowed to a halt. This brought a little wildness and wilderness into the urban areas.
Passion is a celebration of this wilderness, our inner wildflower. A passion we are capable of having for life.
The artist's approach to abstraction is unique in that it references the energy which creates form, she speaks of her practice as a balance of holding on and letting go. Dragging, sweeping, transparency over opaque layers and visa versa, working the whole canvas going from large forms into detail and back.
Her approach is spontaneous, and there are often loses and gains during the process of painting, this reflects the subject matter of organic growth. Life cycles, and the ever-changing forms in nature.
Your painting will be carefully wrapped and shipped with a certificate of authenticity from the artist's studio.
