Artwork description:

The art piece is an image from my Ethiopian Travels series.
I visited and photographed unique tribes, trying to capture their authentic beauty and aesthetics.

This artwork is made with the Sunprint technique, which is based on direct sunlight exposure and the cyanotype process. Images through negative usually turn a vibrant Prussian blue, but here I tried something different- in order to achieve a sepia look
I toned the paper with black tea.

Photographs of Ethiopian tribe people are transformed by tea toning into archival, almost antique images.
The rustic, vintage look is perfect for any interior. It will give every room special, unique vibe.
Tea-tone Cianotipe Prints are perfect as wall décor, as a housewarming gift or special birthday present for someone who appreciates original, one of a kind art.

-For many years of my career as a photographer, I am on the search for something new, something unique. That’s when I started recreating my photos using an old, forgotten technique, called Cyanotype photography, which is an exclusive and distinctive art form that was created by English scientist and astronomer Sir John Herschel in 1842.

It is a printing technique that uses film negative, direct sunlight, and some special formula for exposure.
Each photo is one of a kind, with unique brush strokes printed on watercolor paper. The result is something between a photo and a painting.

-Cyanotype Print is especially significant because the image that you get resembles a graphic painting, with a vintage look.
-I sometimes use coffee or tea toning to achieve a vintage, sepia look, different from the original Cyanotype Print many shades of blue.

Cyanotype Print is perfect for your beach house decor, farmhouse interiors, living room, or dining room walls.
It also makes a great housewarming or birthday gift.
