Transport yourself to a world of vivid nostalgia with this vibrant collage, a homage to the cherished memories of the artist’s family house back in France. Behold the majestic mountain that stood right next to her home, captured on one of the most exhilarating days of the year - "Icarus Cup Day."
As a child, Cyrielle was enthralled by the annual spectacle of the Coupe Icare ("Icarus Cup"), a mountain festival celebrating the art of paragliding. The festival's allure lay not only in the daring flights but also in the kaleidoscope of costumes donned by the paragliders - each one more colorful and extravagant than the last. The event would culminate with a prize awarded to the most audacious and coolest costume of all.
Take a closer look, and you'll even spot the loyal dog of the artist’s family, etched in the bottom right corner. Amidst the sky dotted with paragliders, hot-air balloons ascend gracefully, and a few adventurers sport costumes ranging from bats to flying cars, adding a playful twist to the scene.
To craft this artwork, Cyrielle painstakingly assembled approximately 300 pieces from magazines, dedicating around 25 hours of artistic passion. Her innovative technique brought this landscape to life, reflecting the essence of cubist and pop art influences that inspire her.
