Manchester la, la, la
The work explores lost language, throughout the world our cities become increasing diverse, different people settling in different countries, bringing a rich understanding of different cultures working together influencing the language we speak, here in my home City of Manchester is no different.
The generated artwork uses phases, slang, dialect, expressions of the older generations.
The work is a combination of acrylic paint and screen-printed text, celebrating an existence of my surrounding Mancunian language that is sadly drifting away, perhaps never to return for future generations to use.
All colours used are from colour studies taken on locations in the Manchester’s City Centre.
