Little owl (Chevêche in french) is an ethnic wood sculpture of a roosting owl, carved from a piece of light wood found in the forest, eaten away by nature and the elements, abandoned to its sad fate as a dead wild wood...
It belongs to the Ostreïdes series, which expresses the complexity of life in its search for the most appropriate form for survival, as well as the wisdom of the spirit applied to the transformation of matter.
The work was gouged out of the wood, cleaned and stripped of its impurities and weaknesses to give it its final shape, and completed with surfaced wood pulp where necessary, then stained with water-soluble oil paint and varnished.
Dimensions with base: H 27 x W 12 x D 12 cm
Signed on the underside of the wood.
Materials: dead wood found in the forest, surfaced wood pulp, water-soluble oil paint, marine varnish, black iron base.
