Another work where surrealism meets symboilsm/visionary art, in a meaning infused inner landscape. Central figure, peculiarly merged with that landscape in a form sugesting a shadow butterfly of sorts represents many things. It can be seen as an axis mundi, it can be seen as portal to a parralel world from which the smaller bright figure emerges; there's much more here, but symbols should not be dissected as this diminishes their polisemic potenial. Or in other -Francis Bacon's- words "if you can speak about it, there wouldn't be a need to paint it"...
Charcoal drawing on 300gsm Canson etching paper, protected with quality resin fixatives
Carefully packed and insured for shipping (shipping can be combined if you order a few pieces - please send me a message and I'll take care of that)
