Artist's description:

Painting of an Afghan Girl

Oil on Linen Canvas, 2015

Painting Tabitha was very emotional as I get very attached to my work and go through a lot of emotions during the painting process. Tabitha is a girl from Afghanistan. I chose the name Tabitha, which is an Aramaic name, because she has the beautiful eyes of a gazelle.
I used the old masters’ grisaille technique for this painting as it seemed like the best way to represent the true colors and the light that reflects of her skin.

“You’ve really captured a great expression and mood in her face. Great job!” Brian Neher, nationwide renowned portrait artist
