This work is a reduction linocut of my muse, water.
The inspiration for this print came from the shores of New York – where I was born – on to Chicago’s Lake Michigan, and the spectacular tropics of Tampa Bay, where water has held an unwavering hold on my spirit — fluid, intuitive and reflective.
This one, titled ‘On the Coast’ is of a small edition of prints, all of which are printed and embellished slightly by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original. They are embellished in Ink from Hashimoto & Co, Japan.
A reduction lino-print is formed with color that are cut utilizing geometric patterns, cleaned up in Photoshop, printed, then hand embellished.
This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks, on 98 lb mixed medium paper and has a beautiful matt finish.
It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean.
Limited to 95 strikes.
This artwork will be rolled in a tube for support for safety.
