This tiny painting depicts an old cottage by the sea. It is early evening in winter and the background sea and sky are painted in shades of blue and purple. The cottage roof ,although in a state of disrepair, reflets the unusual winter light and wild flowers and weeds have been allowed to grow upr ound the walls. There is a sandy path leading past the cottage to the deserted beach.
