Collagraph print
A handmade collagraph print with Chine Colle fish.
I wanted to make a collagraph plate from recycling. I used plastic netting which oranges come in, toothpaste tubing and blister packets. The more I looked around my house the more i wanted to repurpose everyday items. Collagraph printing is such an experimental process of printing. I am always on the look out for items which have interesting textures. Sometimes they are successful sometimes not so. If I can make art out of items which would otherwise be thrown away it is a good thing.
Printed on 250gsm cartridge paper .
A Collagraph print is one made from a plate with different textures. The printing plate is made from mount board. The process is a combination of intaglio and relief.
The beauty of this process is the way all the colours merge together when printed and no image will ever be the same.
