This is a painting of a nude woman standing in bright sunlight next to a tall window. The reflected light of the window and red curtains envelope the figure in a warm glow. I wanted to evoke a uniquely nostalgic European atmosphere in the scale of the figure to the lofty proportions of the beautiful old casement window. There is an impressionistic quality throughout, with soft edges and a tactile presence to the brushwork. This small painting is rich in details like the reflection in the glass and the charming window latch.
