I have long been interested in representing the nude in different mediums. I'm particularly attracted to portraying the nude in block print for the way that the curvature of the body contrasts with the rigidity of the material. Here a female nude lays in bed gazing out the window at the setting sun. As the figure engages in contemplation, we naturally project our own thoughts onto her, pondering the emotions that were stirred through the activities and encounters of our day.
As all prints are hand pressed, each will have some minor differences, which I believe adds to the character of the print. I cannot guarantee that you will receive the edition featured in the photo.
