Original artwork description:
A painting with many layers. 'Nothing Wasted' has been built up using layers of collage and mixed media. A cold wax medium is added to the oil paint on the upper layers of the painting to enable a carving into under-layers, and causing semi transparent parts made to be just visible. I wanted to create the colouring and feel of patina copper and old walls. I love surfaces that have gone through wear and tear, weathered and worn. The term 'adaptive reuse' in architecture and design flows through into the feel of this painting.
