In the North Sea series is this number 89, an oil painting on panel 80x60 cm, en plein-air painted on the beach of Ameland, a cloudy sky with beautiful colors.
It was an overcast day with a chance of a rain shower. Occasionally the sun almost came through and that created beautiful colors in the clouds. I tried to capture the moment in this painting and that is reflected in the brushstrokes that are smoothly put down. The layering of this painting makes for an interesting and atmospheric painting.
