Artist's description:

"Nerines" was painted after studies made in the Botanical Gardens in Utrecht, NL. It was finished slowly, in three phases, with gaps, over a long period of time and returned to be finished much later. It is part of an on-going series of paintings of flowers, concentrating on the abstract patterns of light and shade made by thew natural forms in sunlight against the darker background of the soil or garden.

Materials used:

Oil on Linen canvas, primed with egg & oil emulsion primer. Varnished with Damar varnish

Nerines (1985)
