Artwork description:

'My Magical Way of Thinking' is a macro photo of Cladonia lichens with a raindrop on the top, captured in the Swedish forest in February 2022, being lucky to catch a few minutes of winter sunshine.

BEHIND THE SCENE:

”My Psychedelic Garden” is a photo project of my inner child. Playful and curious, my inner child can see magic and fairytales just everywhere.

How the kids' magic works - kids can take a stick, for example, and suddenly it turns into a horse, or a human, or whatever, that is needed by the context. Kids model the world through objects that they have, they play to enjoy, relieve, and understand. Same here - my inner adult sees a Cladonia lichen, understands that it is a "mix" of fungus and seaweed, knows where do they grow, etc. And the inner child looks at Cladonia, and imagines a human with a head that looks like a crystal ball with beautiful reflections of thoughts and emotions… the magic of creating a new idea is going on, and the sparks are all around.

Such a magical way of thinking can be the way to find the solution or understanding but can be the way to get stuck in illusions. It is activated, when we need to deal with uncertainty, when we meet something unknown. But the real magic happens when this magical thinking goes in balance and with the support and care of the inner adult, our rational part.
