An atmospheric night sailing painting. Everything is illuminated by the full moon, with full sail and a light on board adding contrast and that all important touch of warmth. The vessel, a schooner, mid 19th century is sailing in fairly lively sea conditions, enough to warrant two at the helm.

Painted with professional top quality oil paint on superior linen canvas over a sturdy hardwood stretcher. The painting technique provides a high level of realism using visible brush work in places to emphasise the energy and movement particularly of the sea.
