The symbol of Pisces explains the origin of Jesus's monogram. This word was a kind of Christian acrostic (the first letters of each word constitute a meaningful text) telling about Christ. Each letter of the "ancient Greek fish" meant correspondingly the first letter of other, very important words which were somehow connected with the Christian faith: "Iesous Christos Theou Hyios Soter" (Greek) - "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior" (abbreviated: ICHTHYS - Fish). Oil on canvas. The artwork is painted in the realistic style.
