This shot was taken during the October 28, 2023 Lunar Eclipse in Italy.
Astronomical photography on film is a very special and fascinating process, both because of the challenges it brings on a technical level (everything that is accomplished is in real time and impressed on film at the time of the shot) and because of the unmistakable and unique result inherent in film photography.
In this shot, the Lunar Eclipse was captured at the moment of maximum extension, and on the same frame, another image was imprinted 45 minutes after the first shot.
The result is this print made in a darkroom and selenium toned on Ilford Classic cellulose fiber paper in edition of 30.
Included in the purchase is the custom-made passport.
