Montmartre Mill. 2006. Oil on canvas. 65 x 55 cm
Plein Air artwork from cycle 'Paris- the city I love'

At the end of the 18th century, the streets of picturesque Montmartre were decorated with the wings of about 30 mills. Only two of them have survived to this day - Rade and Galet.
The painting depicts the Moulin de la Galette, built in 1622, located at the corner of Lepic and Girardon streets. Since 1612, fine flour has been produced here, used to make wafer dough.
At one time windmills were a symbol of Montmartre, and the mills of Rade and Galet were captured by Vincent Van Gogh in his paintings.
This place has always attracted artists.
In this painting, the artist portrayed Montmartre with charm, light and love. The painting was created in 2006, during an exhibition in Paris in the workshops of the Cité.

This is a unique, one of a kind original oil painting. It was done in oil on canvas stretched on a wooden frame.
The painting is sold unframed.
