This painting was inspired by a landscape workshop held in the picturesque village of Menai Bridge on Anglesey. I was fascinated by the abstract nature of a number of rooftops receding into the distance, which were glimpsed through a gap in a hedge. They brought to mind Pablo Picasso's early/pre-Cubist paintings in the hilltop village of Horto de Ebro in Spain. This is painted in thick impasto oils on a canvas board, mounted in a white floater frame.
