Painted on-site at the MN Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. Features an iris flower with light pink and mauve top petals, darker mauve and violet bottom petals, and bright orange beards. The intriguing background has a dripping texture created with water-based casein paint, and glazed over with oil in ultramarine blue. Touches of red and gold paint and whimsically curving leaves complete the background and further accent the flower. The flower is painted with both brush and palette knife, and the shapes of the petals are enhanced by the texture of the paint.
