Original artwork description:

A wall plaque depicting a rusting port hole through which the storm can be glimpsed.
Inspired by the rusting remains to be found along the East coast between Hull and Whitby and representing the fragility of mans safety and security on the sea and the decline of the fishing industry and those who depend upon it.

Also, thinking about the barriers we put up to protect ourselves, both mentally and physically from the harsh environment, but how secure are they really?

Materials used:

Clay, oxides, glass, glaze
