Artist's description:

Seagulls, I love them... so cheeky and funny and such pirates of the high ocean! It would not surprise me one little bit if they could learn to do line fishing!

A handprinted linocut reduction print, reduction means that as I am printing the very short edition of 12 prints, for each and every color, the prints, all of them, go through the press and then I cut away areas to keep the color I just printed. It is a bit of a head game and I LOVE IT! I have used 6 colors, warm beach colors, in waterbased inks, a dark olive as the last color.
You can join over 57.000 viewers on Youtube, to see how a reduction print is made and printed by me, go to and search under my name. All my lino prints are printed by me, printmaking is my big love!

"Mackerel sky" is printed on a warm beautiful piece of velvety Fabriano printmaking paper,
the image measures 13.5" x 10" (35 cm x 25 cm)
and paper is 17.5" x 15". (44 cm x 38 cm)
This is a quite a large print, and strong enough to be framed even larger to make a real splash on your wall!

I have signed, titled and numbered the print.
Please note you might not receive the number in the photo, all my prints can differ as I apply some layers with 2 colors at the same time. I hope you can accpet this as part of the creative process.

I'll mail it to you protected by tissuepaper and a cellophane sleeve so it arrives safely. It comes with a flier explaining what a lino reduction is. See thumbnail above.
