My husband and I recently went to Bar Harbor for an art festival. Since we had never been there, we took an extra day and went hiking and drove around the island. What a gorgeous place! I plan to paint more from my photos and sktches.
This is on a gessoed panel. I have lots of these panels - I must have bought them on sales at some point. They are "slicker" that what I prefer to paint on. But I have about 40 of them - so I am going to use them! I struggled a bit with this one - I felt like the paint was sliding around. But eventually I was able to build up the paint and am pleased with the result. I think that I held my breath a lot while painting it - and at the end, finally exhaled!
