With its haunting call and striking black and white plumage and red eyes, the Common Loon is an iconic bird of the Canadian lakes. This one was spotted while we were canoeing on the Lower Rideau, swimming and trying to draw us away from its mate and young chick.
This small reduction linocut print in four colours was made as a test for a larger piece (not yet printed).
