Original artwork description:

I've got an old instax camera, think polaroid, but smaller, rectangular photographs. If I dared to take a photograph at night I'd always get the same result, nothing! The camera needs clear bright conditions to give you a recognisable picture. I used to shake my fist in anger and curse my hubris every time I ended up with a blank photo, as I felt I'd wasted some film. Now, I look forward to my lack lustre photography skills because I can paint over the result!

This photograph was taken using some expired instax film, the resulting photograph was a half developed landscape view of the Loire region in France. Over the green of the forest seemed the perfect place to paint this wooden lion's head which I found carved into a door in Lyon.
