In this series of works I express my passion for watercolors. For me they are a technique of immediacy, of the ability to grasp the aspects of reality in an instant, restoring an equally sudden, fleeting image. They are portraits of people or animals that are made at the first.
In this case I wanted to remember a woman I had seen in Calabria in the country of my grandparents, who had struck me because, as was done in the past, she carried a basket with fruit on her head. An almost archetypal image, the woman who bears fruit to life, who generates life.
These watercolors are made bright by a passpartout and a white frame.
