I have recently started painting people asleep or lying down with their cats - I aim to depict a sense of love, loyalty and trust. My previous work has been concerned with the relationship between myself and my two children, but now I am painting imaginary people (the starting points are found images which I use only for the outlines) as a way to move away from painting my children, which I have been doing for about six years. My aim is to emulate that feeling I have towards my children in these paintings of people and their cats.
