The lazy, decaying swell from a mid-Atlantic weather system, scarcely visible out in open water arrives against the SE face of the main island of St Kilda, Hirta, and boils round the foot of near vertical cliffs.
Resident gannets predate on a shoal of herring pushed in against the cliff face.
