'Lake Windermere, Afternoon Light'

During my time in the Lake District, Lake Windermere proved to be an endless source of inspiration. I spent several days around its perimeter painting the changing light across the water. I had been painting the silver light moving across the water earlier in the day and became interested in the rich blue hue it took on. I loved the soft tones of the hills to the distance and the crisp contrast the tops of the trees formed against the sky.
